We will now take a look at the NFC and provide a quick over view of each Division.
If you would like to how we feel about your favorite team, simple email us and we will give you a more in depth look at that individual team.
NFC EAST - Clearly the cream of the crop of the NFC
EAGLES 11-5 ~~ We look for the Eagles to be a Super Bowl bound team. They have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Eagles also boasted a Top 10 defense from last season. In the toughest division, someone has to eke out the title. Let’s give to the birds.
COWBOYS 11-5 ~~ Another highly prolific offense gets the call to be on the Eagles heels. Cowboys took a step backwards after posting 13 wins the year before. With the release of headaches T.O and Pacman Jones, HC Wade Phillips will be able to concentrate on his jobs. He is clearly on the hot seat. Mike Shanahan is lurky and failure to deliver anything less then the NFC Championship, will spell doom for Mr. Phillips.
GIANTS 10-6 ~~ One of the top defenses in the league should propel them to double digit wins. The question remains. Who does Eli throw the ball too? We saw last season how vanilla the offense was without Plax. Someone needs to step up.
REDSKINS 9-7 ~~ Even the last place team in this division will finish above .500. These teams will all split out with each other and pound the weaker ones. Year 2 of Jim Zorn clearly rests on Jason Campbell’s arm. He raced the team out to a 6-2 start, then the Skins collapsed to an 8-8 finish. Albert Haynesworth brings some respectability back to the defense.
NFC NORTH
VIKINGS 10-6 ~~ We will give the Vikes the edge here based on their coach on the hot seat, and their awesome RB play. Peterson is a joy to watch. The Viking defense is the best in the division. There is enough talent to win this one.
PACKERS 9-7 ~~ Aaron Rogers is a solid QB. The key to GB this year is their defense. They were blasted by injuries last season. This year though, we can’t see such an injury bug. We like new DC Dom Capers coming in.
BEARS 8-8 ~~ Bears get gun-slinger Jay Cutler from the Broncos. But they still need some WR help. Forte is a solid RB. The defense has slipped the last couple of years. The weak schedule should help, but not enough to get them a sniff of the playoffs. Lovie Smith could be gone at the end of the season.
LIONS 2-14 ~~ They can’t do any worse than last year. So right off the bat, they are improved!
NFC SOUTH
PANTHERS 10-6 ~~ We are looking for the Panthers to win this division. Panthers rate the clear edge defensively over the Saints so we push them to the extra win here. Carolina needs to just pound the ball the way they did in last years 12-4 campaign. The defense is improved and with new DC Ron Meeks taking over, should be solid as usual.
SAINTS 9-7 ~~ This team led the league in scoring and still finished 8-8. That is all you need to know. This defense MUST step up for the Saints to take the next step.
FALCONS 9-7~ Atlanta will take a slight step back. Rookie Matt Ryan had a great first year, but we look for his opponents to step up a bit this time. Ryan won’t have the element of surprise on his hand. Falcons bring in TE Tony Gonzalez to add to a very good offense. This team can contend for the division. It would not surprise us if they leap frog the Saints and tie or get ahead of the Panthers. This is a good team.
TAMPA BAY 3-13 ~~ The rebuilding has begun in Tampa. It will be a long year. Playing in this division and this conference will be tough for new HC Raheem Morris. Will they throw their rookie QB to the wolves like Atlanta last season? A new HC, QB, DC and it spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e.
NFC WEST
ARIZONA 10-6 ~~ We will call for the Cards to still win, but barely. No team can contain their WR play. This team got hot and was in the Super Bowl. The defense leaks and their QB is now 39. Tough to catch lightening in the bottle twice.
SEATTLE 9-7 ~~ New HC Jim Mora takes over a team that was deleted by injuries last year. There is still talent on both sides of the ball in Seattle. Look for a big bounce back year and with some help, a division crown again.
49ers 6-10 ~~ Mike Singletary wants his team to bring it and we like that. But there is till a lack of talent on this club. Their #1 pick in Michael Crabtree says he may sit out and re-enter the draft. That’s never a good thing.
RAMS 5-11 ~~ Rams HC Steve Spagnuolo must get some help out of his defense. This team has gone 2-14 and 3-13 the last 2 seasons. We will skip 4 and give them 5 wins this year.
