Verlander has gone Under in three straight starts against the Rays whom he is 4-1 against with a 3.52 ERA. Kelly Shoppach (3-17), Ben Zobrist (2-16), Jason Bartlett (1-13), Evan Longoria (3-12), Dan Johnson (0-5), Reid Brignac (0-3), John Jaso (0-3), and Willy Aybar (0-2) all struggle with the righty. Tampa Bay has gone Under in 19 of their 34 daytime games when they hit only .244 as a team. The Rays may have won two straight games, but they are still hitting below .200 over their last eight games. We expect the pitching to dominate this game which means we expect a low-scoring game between the Rays and Tigers this afternoon.
