The Tigers are 2-5 on their current homestand which wraps up with the Rays. Over their last eight games, the Tigers are hitting close to .240 as a team.

Detroit’s Max Scherzer took a loss at the hands of the Rays on July 26th in Tampa. He gave up four runs and two hits in 5.7 innings of work with the biggest problem being his four walks. The Tigers have lost his last three starts since Scherzer has only averaged 6.3 innings per outing. The Rays bats awakened a bit last night after scoring six runs against Armando Galarraga and company.
