Baseball handicapping can be the most frustrating sport to handicap. Just when you think you have a team/pitcher figured out, they go and do the opposite of what you expected!! First and foremost, in order to be successful at handicapping baseball you must focus on trends and look at the big picture. When examining trends look at the end of a 3 or 4 game series, specifically teams who are going for a sweep, especially in the rare occasion that these teams are underdogs. Also, trends could be a team whose hitters are collectively batting very well. The opposite applies also, try to fade teams who are really struggling at the plate over the past few games. Another huge factor overlooked by most people is a team's bullpen. Baltimore's bullpen went through a horrendous streak last season, where they were allowing at least 3 runs every game. Bettors would have been smart to fade them and look at over selections during the O's slide. The baseball season is so long and therefore there are going to be many, many streaks and trends. By focusing your selections on trends and less speculation, your bankroll grow.
