The NFL kicked off their season in last nights Hall of Fame Game between the Bills and Titans. We managed to push with our selection on a late safety as we had the Bills +3.

Today, we are going to look at the AFC and give you or selections on who will win each division.

AFC EAST

Patriots 12-4 ~~ Pats with the biggest upgrade in the league with the return of Tom Brady. How rusty will he be is the question. Even an 80% Brady is better than most of the league, and the rest of the QBs he faces in this division.

Dolphins 9-7 ~~ Miami has taken giant strides under the Parcells regime. No question in our minds that they continue to improve.

Bills 8-8 ~~ With HC Dick Jauron on the hot seat, the Bills need to make the playoffs. But without Lynch for the first few weeks, it will be an uphill battle. T.O should add some fire to the offense. A solid defense will make the Buffalo a borderline playoff team.

Jets 6-10 ~~ Jets bring either Clemens or Sanchez behind center. Good news is that they have an above average line, and good running backs. Bad news is who is catching the ball. Rex Ryan had better pray this D takes shape fast and starts to resemble what he had in Baltimore.

AFC NORTH

Steelers 11-5 ~ We call for the Steelers to do what they do. WIN. HC Mike Tomlin should be able to corral this division again. The defending Champs should be solid with the return of Parker from injury and 2nd year bruiser Rashard Mendenhall. We like the WR corps here. Steelers, we feel have the best LBs in the league.

Ravens 8-8 ~~ We are looking for a sophomore slump from Mr. Flacco. The defense is another year older, and has lost its lead man , Ryan, to the Jets. Ravens do love to pound the ball, so controlling the clock will get them a few wins.

Bengals 8-8 ~~ A leap of faith pick here. Can Carson Palmer stay on the field. Cincy can’t get worse. The Bengals, simply by accident have to play better.

Browns 5-11 ~~ We are calling for a rough Year 1 for the Mangenious. New HC Mangini has a tough task at hand. Coach did bring in a bunch of former Jets familiar to his system though. QB play is a question. Quinn or Anderson? Not that either one would lead this bunch anywhere.

AFC SOUTH

COLTS 11-5 ~~~ Tony Dungy has retired. But Peyton is still running this offense. The big question is will Bob Sanders return to form after injury. Clearly he is the key to the Colts defense. Indy should be able to hold off Houston.

TEXANS 10-6 ~~ We look for the Texans to be much improved. It would not surprise us here to see them overtake the Colts. A good core group of players will make their move.

TITANS 8-8 ~~ Last year’s feel good story, Kerry Collins and the Titans will be a non-read this fall. The top two teams have the better talent at key positions. A small step back will lead to Vince Young taking the reigns. Now, whether that is good or bad remains to be seen.

JAGUARS 7-9 ~~ This hurts as we are big fans of their HC. But with a totally deplete WR corps, and questions on to which David Gerrard will show up. We just can’t back this team. HC Hot Seat Alert. The first coach fired watch is on.

AFC WEST -- Clearly the WORSE division in the AFC

CHARGERS 11-5 ~~~ Merriman is back and that alone will do wonders for the defense. Rivers is a stud QB and with LT appearing to be on his last legs, the arm of Rivers will carry this prolific offense.

RAIDERS 5-10 ~~~ Have to give the young Raiders 2nd place here. At least they have young skill position players on offense, and a solid defense.

CHIEFS 3-13 ~~ A major cleaning of the house over the winter. The Patriots of Kansas City storm into town. Things won’t be better overnight, but they won’t be in the basement, and that is because of the ....

BRONCOS 2-14 ~~ This team is bad. We will start on a terrible defense. It could be the worse in the league. Next, the new HC, comes in and totally ruffles the franchise QBs feathers so much, that he is shipped out. It will be a long year in Denver.
