In the past this conference has been all about Duke and UNC as both have finished 1 and 2 respectfully the last two years. Will it be the same this year with all the key departures for both schools? In the past it has been a simple plug and play system because they are far superior in recruiting. I fear for other schools this just may be what happens this year in the ACC.
Top ACC Point Guards
1. Greivis Vasquez - Maryland (The Sr. Guard is the cream of the crop in this class of point guards. He has progressed each and every year averaging 17.5 ppg, 5.0 apg, 5 rpg, and 1.4 spg. The kid plays hard and it shows as he can take over a game on any night.)
2. Malcolm Delaney - Virginia Tech
3. Demontez Stitt - Clemson
4. Derwin Kitchen - FSU
5. Dexter Strickland - UNC
Top ACC Shooting Guards
1. Jon Scheyer - Duke (The Sr. Guard is expected to step up big this year with the departure of Henderson. Scheyer averaged 14.9 points per game last year and is coming into his Sr. year).
2. Sylven Landesberg - Virginia
3. Iman Shumpert - Georgia Tech
4. Michael Snaer - FSU
5. Reggie Jackson - Boston College
Top ACC Small Forwards
1. Kyle Singler - Duke (Singler in his Jr. year increased his numbers across the board from points, to rebounds, assists, steals and rebounds. Very close second is John Henson, but Singler should improve again as he takes on more of a role with some key players departing from Duke).
2. John Henson - UNC
3. Rakim Sanders - Boston College
4. Chris Singleton - FSU
5. Marcus Ginyard - UNC
Top ACC Power Forwards
1. Derrick Favors - Georgia Tech (If you don't know about this kid you will very soon as he is the (#1 Scout, #4 Rivals, #2 ESPN, prospect). He finishes and is a McDonalds All American.
2. Ed Davis - UNC
3. Al-Farouq Aminu - Wake Forest
4. Jeff Allen - Virginia Tech
5. Gani Lawal - Georgia Tech
Top ACC Centers
1. Trevor Booker - Clemson (Booker the 6-7 240lb Sr. is a beast and nearly averaged a double double last year and should only improve as Clemson's C/F. He will likely get more minutes this year and it should allow him to average the double double in my opinion).
2. Solomon Alabi - FSU
3. Joe Trapani - Boston College
4. Dwayne Collins - Miami
5. Deon Thompson - UNC
