In less than 30 days, the Major League Baseball season starts and it’s on for our summer sport, the resounding crack of the bat, the leather getting blistered in a catcher’s mitt from catching the heat from a 95 mph fastball, the grinding dirt reverberating from a slide into 2nd.
Last season the San Francisco Giants won the World Series in 5 games over the under dog Texas Rangers, who will win it this season? Looking at some of the attention-grabbing pickups in the offseason, here are this seasons MLB pre-season predictions in every division.

American league playoff teams will be the
Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, as the division winners and the New York Yanks still have one more frantic push as the American League wild card team.
Then, in the National League, our division winners, the Philadelphia Phillies, St Louis Cardinals, the defending 2010 World Series champions, San Francisco Giants, followed by the Cincinnati Reds as the wild card for the National League.
Pre-season World Series predictions;
Representing the American League will be Boston Red Sox, led by new Sox, Adrian Gonzalez(.298 avg, 31 HR, 101 RBI), and Carl Crawford(.307 avg, 19 HR, 90 RBI) with the soul of Boston, Kevin Youkilis and the thirty-something slow off the trigger, “Big Papi” who is ready to have his very last useful season at the DH position, David Ortiz.
Playing against the pitching heavy, Philadelphia Phillies, of the National League. Losing Jayson Werth (.296 avg, 27 HR, 85 RBI) to the Washington Nationals didn’t help the Phils, they will certainly miss his bat, and his base running.
The winners of the 2011 World Series will be the Philadelphia Phillies. I think the Fightin’ Phils still have rock-solid hitting and still have the hammer power with Ryan Howard (31 HR, 108 RBI) swinging the bat, and the astounding pitching lineup of Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Roy Oswalt, even run of the mill 5th man starter, Joe Blanton will be too much to handle, even for the quick sticks of the Red Sox.
