1-New England Patriots (9-2) The Pats hold strong blowing out the pesky Detroit Lions, as Brady puts up a 158.3 QB rating in the game.
2-New York Jets (9-2) Mark Sanchez continues to bring his QB game to the next level. The Jets defense continues to play well, only allowing 100+ yards rushing once over the last 5 games.
3-Atlanta Falcons (9-2) The definite apex of the NFC. Matt Ryan is having another great year, behind a great ball control offense.
4- Baltimore Ravens (8-3) Beating the Buccaneers 17-10, was a bigger loss for Tampa Bay than a win for Baltimore, holding Bucs QB Freeman to 17-37 passing.
5- Pittsburgh Steelers (8-3) The Steelers can thank Steve Johnson for keeping the ranking as high as it is. Going to overtime against the happily opportunistic Bills, shows either the Bills have more heart than we think or the Steelers were greatly outplayed for 60 minutes.
6-Green Bay Packers (7-4) Losing to the best team in the NFC at this point, is nothing to be ashamed of, especially for dominating the total offensive yardage 418-294 in their 20-17 loss. Upcoming games vs San Francisco and Detroit should mend their wounds.
7-New Orleans Saints (8-3) The Saints are getting better every week, scoring 30+ over the last 3 games, getting Reggie Bush back is only going to make this team that much more daunting in the next few weeks.
8-Philadelphia Eagles (7-4) The precise example of how one bad bounce can turn a game around drastically. The Eagles were down by 18 points, came storming back to only lose by 5, showed heaps of heart.
9-Chicago Bears (8-3) Jay Cutler, last season’s 26 interception guy has begun to show why so many still swear by him and his cannon arm. Over the last 4 games, Cutler has been pretty good, throwing for 9 TD and 3 int with a 99.0 QB rating.
10- Kansas City Chiefs (7-4) The AFC West division leaders dominate the running game, for 174 a game. 5 times they have run for 200 yards or more, now they are getting a dangerous passing attack, passing for 859 yards over the last 3 games.
NFL POW (PLAYER OF THE WEEK)
Dwayne Bowe (WR, Kansas City Chiefs) 26 year old Bowe was nearly unstoppable with 13 catches for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns against the leaky Seattle Seahawks. His 7th TD over the last 3 games
Hard-hitting matchups this week to watch for; NY Jets at New England (The Jets look to beat the Pats like they did in week 2, 28-14. I am more than sure, the Patriots are pretty eager for Rex Ryan’s Jets this time around.), Pittsburgh at Baltimore (Pittsburgh squeaked out a win versus the Bills have a tough division matchup against the Ravens and their relentless pass coverage, Baltimore is tough to play in, where they are 5-0.) Atlanta at Tampa Bay (Tampa bay wants to avoid a 2nd consecutive loss, the Falcons come in on a red hot streak, winning 5 in a row. The Bucs have still not beaten a team with a winning record, to be taken seriously, this is an essential win.) St. Louis at Arizona (Rookie QB led Rams are continuing to fight for a playoff berth to win the dreadful NFC West. If they beat their division rival, upcoming games vs San Francisco and Seattle, the Rams can make the playoffs for the first time since 2004.)
